Soviet Wire Recorders

So right now I am obsessed… yes, obsessed with Soviet wire recorders. The aesthetics of the actual machine and the unique sound they produce make the technology very appealing to me creativity.

For the Phantom Car Project, I thought it would be interesting to take a single piece of technology, in this case the Soviet wire recorder and use that to shape all of the technology in the world created for the animation. Being able to record information plays a large role in the story. To me, building the tech foundation on recordable media seemed like a cool idea.
